OS 1241: Buck Fever and Big Bets

Two words: deer season. First day of gun in Georgia, and bow season’s in full swing, and the guys are feeling it. In fact, Jeff was the first one to get on the board with a great buck he put down this week. Get the story on that, all the discussion that springs from it, all kinds of tips and everything else you can expect when the fever hits.

And if you’re more of an angler, don’t worry – there’s plenty of fishing stuff in this episode for you as well. Fresh water, surf, offshore…and we even got a report from Jeff’s son Dylan, who was checking out Lake James in North Carolina to do some bass fishing!

Finally, you CANNOT MISS the story involving Capt. Scott Shank, Capt. Leon Dana, a $100 bet, and a mobile phone mishap that secured proof that one of them can really show themselves…

Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week from Captain Kirk: I use a bungy cord to pin my rods against the console to keep them out of the way on my T top. Folks fighting fish will hang the line with their clothes and break the rod tips if I don’t push them in.

Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: There are a ton of juvenile fish in our backwaters this time of year. Small reds, trout and drum. Also flounder are closed. They are all a blast to catch but have to be released. To make it easier take a pair of pliers and smash down the barb on your hooks.

Here’s your Kirbyco Builders Inc. cooking tip of the week from Jeff: He says don’t knock it until you’ve tried it… but this Silk dairy-free Pumpkin Spice almond creamer is amazing! It’s only out for a limited time and it’s so good it’s often out of stock!
