It’s Baiterrific! | OS 1426

Jeff was doing some OSR, which left a seat open for Capt. Chip Wingo to join Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk. And what were they talking about? Welll, kinda sorta everything.

It was “baiterrific” in St. Augustine, with Kevin telling the boys the amount of bait was unprecedented this week. And depending on where they went, the Jacksonville guys were doing well, too.

The drought conditions continue to be a source of conversation – and concern – but thankfully, the weather should be taking a turn and bringing some much-needed rain. The guys talked all about it, and what the weather could mean for summer fishing and deer season this fall.

It was a great episode for all kinds of chatter…including some sideways stuff you’ll need to hear to believe!

  • Here’s your L.V. Hiers Inc gear tip of the week: A lot of anglers are using the short shank, tear drop jig heads for live shrimp and the new swing jig for fishing mud minnows and mullet. Available at Strike Zone and Palm Valley Outdoors and made by Captains Choice Tackle.
  • Here’s your Ring Power Cat tip of the week: with snapper season approaching, it’s a good idea to have a good venting tool or descending device. Click here for one option on Amazon.
  • Here’s your KirbyCo Builders’ Cooking Tip of the Week: A wonderful way to use your Nettles Gilchrist sausage is to add them to your vegetable medley of choice. We decided to use potatoes, onions and peppers. We used a small amount of olive oil, about a tablespoon. 2 teaspoons of butter and seasoning of choice. We did off setting heat on the grill or you can bake at 400 in the oven. You can use whatever medley you enjoy!
