OS 1250: Christmas Eve in the Outdoors

With Jeff on Christmas OSR, Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk called on Capt. Scott Shank and Capt. Leon Dana to fill up the studio for a special Christmas Eve edition of the Outdoors Show!

Just like the song, the weather outside is FRIGHTFUL…but that doesn’t mean there weren’t plenty of good stories to be told, laughs to be had, and good times to enjoy.

From all of us to all of you, have a very Merry Christmas!

Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: Captain Kirk loves his heated vest from Ororo.

Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: If you are planning on fishing in the next week you really need to pay attention to the water temperature! If it starts to get below 54 degrees you absolutely have to slow your presentation way down. Fish will not move around much to feed! Also sheepshead and whiting enjoy the colder water temperatures! Colder weather typically means they prefer a medium to small shrimp versus big baits.

Here’s your Kirbyco Builders Inc. cooking tip of the week: One of the best baking tips ever. This really works! If you need to soften butter quickly but don’t want to MELT it, put boiling hot water in a glass to heat the glass. Dump the water out and flip it over your stick of butter. In a few minutes it will be perfectly soft to use!
