With Jeff out of the studio doing family-oriented OSR, Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk scoured the globe to find the perfect host for this time of year. And who did they invite to the studio? First Coast five-star charter captain, angling legend, and all-around good guy Capt. Larry Miniard!
As you would guess, when you’ve three veteran charter captains/top-notch anglers/master storytellers, you’ve got LOTS of great fishing stories on this episode. Travis called in and mentioned the long history they’d all had, which led to some of the crazy things they’d seen and experienced over the years. The callers had their own experiences to share as well…SO MANY great tales on this one!
Strange things weren’t the only things they talked about. It didn’t take long to get into the multitude of sharks, increasing goliath grouper numbers and other changes in the fishery. And once they started talking about “interesting” behavior from weekend warrior recreational boaters, business really picked up.
One more thing: you’ll hear Capt. Kirk air his grievances in this episode. The question is this…do you think he sounds like a curmudgeon (or a ‘crudgemudgeon’, as Kirk called it)?
