Get Away to Florida’s Pristine Coastal Wilderness

Join Captain Kevin for a family-friendly boat tour through the scenic waterways of Palm Valley.

What You’ll Experience

Capt. Kevin has teamed up with Palm Valley Outdoors for something special – this isn’t a crowded, noisy commercial cruise! When you step on board with Captain Kevin, you are booking a private, relaxed getaway tailored to your group. He’ll navigate the calm, protected salt marshes and winding creeks of Palm Valley—ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride with zero open-ocean swells.

Coastal Wildlife and Birdwatching

Palm Valley’s thriving tidal ecosystem is teeming with activity. Depending on the season and the tides, your tour offers the chance to see:

  • Marine Life: Watch for pods of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins feeding in the creeks or West Indian manatees cruising the shallow flats.
  • Native Reptiles: Spot American alligators basking along the quieter, sunlit banks of the marsh.
  • A Birdwatcher’s Paradise: Get up close with spectacular coastal birds, including wood storks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, ospreys, and bald eagles hunting along the shoreline.

The Unique Geography of Palm Valley

The waterways you will explore are part of a rare and protected ecosystem where freshwater rivers meet the saltwater tides of the Atlantic. This blending of waters creates a rich, sheltered environment that functions as a natural nursery for the entire coast. As you travel through these tranquil backwaters, Captain Kevin will guide you through the distinct landscapes of the region, from the expansive salt marshes of the Tolomato River to the quiet, shaded canopy creeks that define Palm Valley’s unique character.

Booking Information

All tours are completely private, family-friendly, and open to all ages. Because availability varies based on seasonal schedules and tides, all charter details, rates, and launch locations are handled directly over the phone to customize the trip for your group.

What It’s All About

Captain Kevin Faver

Capt. Kevin has been on the water nearly his entire life, and knows the Palm Valley area like the back of his hand. On your 2-hour tour, you will visit places he and his family have enjoyed for six generations. Capt. Kevin weave together stories of intriguing local history, folklore and personal experiences from the time you cast off from Palm Valley Outdoors, through an adventure to St. Augustine, while your sight-seeing, and as you head back. You’re guaranteed to be regaled with tales, though a few may have grown a tad taller with the telling.

Palm Valley

Palm Valley is a unique coastal pocket located in northeast St. Johns County, situated just minutes inland from Ponte Vedra Beach and directly south of Jacksonville.

While much of the surrounding coastline has developed, this specific corridor remains an old-Florida sanctuary. The area is defined by a pristine, slow-moving stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Tolomato River, bordered by the protected wetlands of the Nocatee Preserve and the Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve. Because these waters are entirely sheltered from the open ocean, the area offers some of the calmest, most scenic backwater cruising in the region, making it an ideal location for a quiet afternoon getaway.

Palm Valley Outdoors

Palm Valley Outdoors Bar & Grill offers a unique waterfront dining experience with fresh seafood from Mayport, FL delivered daily. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, a diverse menu, live local music, 400 feet of boat docking and a scenic dockside ambiance.
